University is good..

Dear Readers,
Enjoying my options at University now, heavily based on Radio, taking 2 Radio modules which is good.

Went to XFM Radio studios, didn't get shown round much, mostly a talk so wasn't that interesting to be honest!

Will attach some pictures of some cool graffiti I saw in Birmingham this week :)

Comments welcome, be nice to get chats underneath my blog posts- hasn't the weather been glorious this week? Unfortunately gonna go downhill from tomorrow!

Watched the Royle Family earlier, I like that show!

Sunday will be a sensitive day for me and my mother- 2 year anniversary of my dads death, was extremely hard for me to come to terms with it, and on Monday got my Salford City Radio slot.

  1. A dismal start to the day, but the sun is breaking through now. I need to do a bit more gardening. I like the graffiti, do you like Banksy? I think his art is amazing, it should be in every town and city.

I hope you and your mother have a nice day on Sunday, it's good to remember lost loved ones. Yesterday would have been my dad's birthday, and tomorrow would have been my mum's, sadly both passed away a long time ago. Ilona

  3. I've been doing a lot of dog walking, sometimes for friends, but also there is a dog who lives in my street and the owners don't take him out. He lives in a shed in the garden and I feel ever so sorry for him, so I take him out most afternoons when I am at home.

I have been planning a long walk I am going to do next month, from Morecambe to the Humber Bridge. I reckon it will be 150 miles. It will take 8 or 9 days, I'm looking forward to it.

I am quite busy in my village, I am the volunteer litter picker, I go round with a stick and pick up all the bottles and cans that the youngsters drop. I can't stand to see rubbish making the place look untidy.

It's library day tomorrow, we get a mobile van visiting. It's quite usefull, saves going to town. We have a new bus service starting tomorrow, should be quite good, more choice of times.

I like radio, what do you have to do for your two modules? I've been on the radio loads of times. A few years ago I was always getting phone calls asking me to go on the radio. I was on Radio 2, Radio 4, and lots of local radio stations. I used to be a lorry driver so people thought that was interesting and they always wanted to ask me questions about it. I am retired now so don't get asked any more.

Sometimes I get asked to go on Radio Humberside our local station, to talk about living a simple frugal life. Off to bed now to read a bit. Have a good Monday.

  4. That's good that you get plenty of exercise and keep active, I'm not very athletic! That's interesting that your into radio as well, i've heard of the Humber area, near Hull I think? Me and my mum met a couple on holiday from that area, in north lincolnshire, but never been to see what its like, are you originally from that area? Yeah its horrible to drop rubbish, there should be more bins dotted around the area, if there isn't one i keep it in my pocket till later. That's good you get a mobile library- very convenient, i won quite a few books in a competition to keep me going, I'm reading a mills and boon at the moment, always wanted to try one and I'm enjoying it. Shame you don't get asked anymore, thats good you have been on some good stations.. One module is we present a 15 minute show and think I'm going to be the presenter :) and other is i have to make up an idea for a radio station and pretend I'm writing to off com with the schedule etc, not too sure on that one yet! Radio got cancelled today so will be going on Wednesday hopefully, hope you enjoy your day. Dorit.
