A NEW WEEK..

Dear Readers,

Hope you are all doing ok! Yesterday I had my 2nd recording in the Radio studio ( I am at the practice stage at the moment so I don't actually go out live on air, but apparently i'm improving which is good to hear!! )

I want to get a copy of them and hopefully can attach them to here for you to listen and comment on. I mentioned Mothers Day in my recording and asked what people did, I took my mum to Istanbul Grill- a Turkish restaurant nearby, it was lovely!! I specialised on 1970's music and just played songs from that era- some were: Sister Sledge- Greatest Dancer and Grease- Summer Nights-- getting people boogying!! I also mentioned Corrie and the story with Frank, he was such a horrible character!

Someone subscribing to my blog (Ilona) you know who you are, mentioned I need to put more content in my posts, so I hope this suffices!

Had a successful day today- sold my computer monitor for £10-- started up my nest egg to get a new computer- got £15 saved up! I want to get a computer with the tower built in, it's so much more compact and looks really good!

Be nice to get some more comments!

Have a good night!

  1. Hi Dorit. Interesting post today, sounds like you are getting into this radio thingy. Your recording sounds very topical, people like to talk about things that are happening now.

I was on Radio Humberside this morning, they rang me to ask if I would talk about frugal living and money saving. I didn't get long though because they started the piece just before the news, so I only had a few minutes. Afterwards they rang and apologised and asked me to go into the studio on Thursday morning and do an interview at 10.30. Should be fun.

Good luck with your savings. I treated myself to a netbook a few months ago, pretty expensive I thought, but worth it.

I have different styles when I write my blog. Some of it is chatty and friendly, and some posts are serious and thought provoking articles. I have found people like to know what I am doing from day to day. They check in every night to see what I have been up to.

You can try all types of writing to see which works best for your readers. It's good that you have written a bit more today. Perhaps put a bit of emotion in it, how you feel about something, what makes you happy, or sad, or angry.

A lot of people say they couldn't write a blog because they never do anything. But they do, it's just that they don't know how to write it down.

Your story about taking your mum out for lunch could have included a lot more detail. How your mum enjoyed it, what you ordered to eat, how long you were there, what time you went in and what time you came out. The service, was it good or bad. What made you laugh, what were the waiters like. What you both wore. Just some ideas to make it into a story.

Keep going, the more you write the easier it gets.
